Hagia Sophia

After breakfast walk through the streets of Istanbul to visit the Hippodrome which was built by Romans and was originally used for Chariot racing and other public events. Continue on to visit Basilica Cistern, the largest surviving Byzantine Cistern in Istanbul. Explore the astounding Hagia Sophia Cathedral and The Turkish and Islamic Art Museum that houses notable collections of Islamic Calligraphy, tiles and rugs.

Lanterns at Grand Bazaar

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a guided tour to the Topkapi Palace & Harem that has been converted into National museum. Admire the exquisite jewels in the treasury including Spoonmaker’s diamond which has the distinction of being the 5th largest diamond in the world. Feel the magic of the Blue Mosque with its cascading domes and six slender minarets dominating the skyline of Istanbul. End the day at Grand Bazaar, one of the oldest market in the world renowned for its jewelry, pottery, carpet, Spices and leather.

Day 04: Istanbul

Bosphorous Strait

Take a private cruise along the Bosphorous. Visit the beautifully tiled Rustem Pasha Mosque and the Chora museum.

Day 05: Istanbul / Cappadocia - Goreme

Church Frescos

Fly to Cappadocia. Arrive and check-in at Anatolian houses. Explore the Goreme Open Air museum comprising of more than 30 rock-hewn churches and chapels containing some superb frescoes, dating from 9th to 11 centuries.

Day 06: Cappadocia

Fairy Chimneys

Tour the Pigeon valley and climb up the Uchisar castle. Visit the Dervent valley, also known as the imaginary valley famous for its Lunar landscape. Continue on to Pasabag valley known for some of the most striking mushroom shaped fairy chimneys. Stop at Avanos village famous for its pottery.

Optional hot air balloon trip, one of the best way to see Cappadocia.

Day 07: Cappadocia

Corridor in the Selime rock monastery, Ilhara Valley

The Red valley is one of the most spectacular valleys in Cappadocia with its different forms of rock formations in variety of colors. Discover the hidden rock-cut churches while hiking through the red valley. Explore the Ilhara Canyon and finally take a wine tour at one of the oldest winery of Turkey.

Day 08: Cappadocia / Bodrum

Halikarnas

Visit the Kaymakli, the widest underground city of Cappadocia region and carved out underneath a rock hill. Later fly to Bodrum via Istanbul. Bodrum is the site of ancient city of Halikarnas, the location of famous mausoleum of Halikarnas, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Located in the Aegean coast, it has an incredibly rich past.

Explore the Ephesus Terrace houses that give us information about family life in Roman period. Continue on further to visit the Seljuk museum that houses wonderful artifacts excavated from the ancient city of Ephesus. Also visit the St John Basilica and House of Mary.

Day 10: Bodrum

Bodrum Castle

A must see place while in Bodrum is the 15th century Bodrum castle. It houses the remarkable museum of underwater archaeology. The museum exhibits several collections of ancient artifacts including relics retrieved from local shipwrecks, divided over 14 exhibition departments in the museum. Many of the items found in the museums can be touched, felt and read about by visiting tourists. The museum exhibitions are overseen by institute of Nautical archaeology which is an American Non-profit organization based on Bodrum as well as Texas. Explore the museum of Underwater archaeology with Dr. Donald Frey, the former president of Institute of Nautical archaeology. Dr. Frey’s underwater pictures have been featured in prominent American and European magazines such as National Geographic & L’Express and his underwater filming has been featured in Turkish television as well as National Geographic Explorer and ABC 20/20 in US.
