Bartholomeus Klip Farmhouse is a Victorian guesthouse situated on a working wheat and sheep farm in the Winelands area, beyond Wellington. The house is on a Natural Heritage site and overlooks the farm and the private nature reserve. Game/birding drives in an open vehicle are offered within the reserve. Mountain Fynbos occur throughout the reserve so wildflowers, particularly proteas, abound. It has one of the largest areas where geometric tortoises are still found. The guesthouse has 4 en-suite bedrooms, a private suite, comfortable reading room, and large lounge with a fireplace, intimate bar, cosy dining room and spacious verandas on which to sit and enjoy the country air. From the generous farm kitchen comes a procession of wholesome meals to remember, and picnic baskets can be packed for excursions.
